Sinn Féin's general election candidate in Mayo, Councillor Gerry Murray has said that Ireland West Airport Knock should under no circumstances be used for US military flights. Cllr. Murray was responding to a statement by Ulick McEvaddy of Omega Air who said that the possibility of the Airport being used for military flights should not be ruled out. Read full article

Sinn Féin town councillor Noel Campbell has been scathing in his criticism of Castlebar Town Council's decision to ignore the people's preferred name choice of Ernie O'Malley Road for the new access road in to Castle Street car park. Read full article

The people of Castlebar have chosen Ernie O'Malley Road as the name for the town's newest thoroughfare. In a plebiscite organised by Castlebar Town Council, residents of Castlebar were invited to make suggestions on the naming of the new bridge in to Castle Street car park. Read full article
