Murray - Tax Cuts will not solve class sizes in Mayo

CLLR. GERRY MURRAY, Sinn Féin's General Election Candidate in Mayo has said that tax cuts will not solve the problem of class sizes in Mayo. Speaking at a meeting in Castlebar in support of the INTO's campaign to force the Government to live up to it's commitment in the Programme for Government to reduce class sizes, Cllr. Murray said that "the fact that we have the second highest average class size at primary level in the EU highlights serious under funding in this area". Read full article

Murray slams loss of Atlantic Dawn quota

Murray welcomes Sinn Féin/DUP agreement on Executive

Sinn Féin's candidate in Mayo Councillor Gerry Murray has welcomed the agreement between Sinn Féin and the DUP on the establishment of the Executive under the Good Friday Agreement. Describing the joint announcement of the agreement by Gerry Adams and Ian Paisley as "truly historic", Cllr. Murray Believes Cost of Living Must be Tackled by Bold and Brave Policies

Sinn Féin's General Election Candidate in Mayo Cllr. Gerry Murray has said that the high cost of living in Ireland is having a major impact on peoples quality of life. The Sinn Féin representative said that the high cost of housing in particular was leading to huge increases in personal debt. Though house prices are cheaper in rural areas, the cost difference is off set by an almost exclusive dependency on expensive car transport in rural Ireland. Read full article
