Sinn Fein County Councilor Gerry Murray has claimed that the Norwegian government has taken a major shareholding in Shell. The stake holding is believed to be in excess of 2 billion euro and is funded from Norway's sovereign wealth fund. Read full article

It is unacceptable that families affected by the floods and landslides in West Mayo last July are still waiting for their communities to be restored according to Cllr. Rose Conway-Walsh. Belmullet, Sinn Fein Councillor, Rose Conway-Walsh is calling on Agriculture Minister, Brendan Smith, to sort out the delay in Disadvantaged Area Payments. "Many farmers who were asked to provide evidence of stocking levels for 2009 remain unpaid even though their payments have been approved." Read full article
